How Maranth Programmes Are Structured
Every Maranth programme follows the same underlying structure: a reading is distributed ahead of each session, participants engage with it in their own time, and the group meets to discuss what they read. The facilitator opens the discussion and keeps it on track — but does not lead it toward a predetermined conclusion.
This structure is borrowed from the literary reading circle tradition and applied to financial material. It works particularly well for adults who already have substantial household and professional experience — the discussion draws on what participants bring to the room, not just what is in the text.
Read Ahead
Materials sent before each session for independent reading
Discuss Together
Cohort meets to discuss, question, and reflect on the reading
Record and Keep
Physical journals, glossary cards, and binders are yours to keep
Return to It
Materials are designed to remain useful long after the programme closes

Programme One · Six Weeks
Personal Finance Reading Series
A six-week reading series that introduces adults aged 40 and above to the vocabulary and frameworks used in personal household finance — household ledger keeping, the structure of common account types, the language of statement review, and the standard documentation used by qualified professionals. The series is reading-led: a chapter is sent in advance of each weekly session, and the cohort meets in a small group of twelve to discuss the reading. Purely educational in scope; no product recommendations are offered.
What the series covers
- Vocabulary of personal household finance: assets, liabilities, income flow, and net position
- The structure of common Singapore account types and how statements are organised
- The language used in documentation produced by MAS-regulated professionals
- Basic household ledger approaches — tracking, categorising, and reviewing
Materials included
- Clothbound reading binder
- Six weekly glossary cards
- Private cohort discussion notebook

Programme Two · Four Months
Mid-Career Money Reflection Circle
A four-month reading circle for adults aged 42 to 55 who want a slow, considered look at the household money habits that have accompanied them through their working years — recurring patterns, household conversation rhythms, and the household structure that has formed around income and savings. The circle is reflection-led: each session opens with a structured reading and continues with a small-group discussion. Educational in nature; no advice is offered. Cohort size of ten.
What the circle explores
- Household money habits formed over a working life — and how to read them
- Recurring patterns in savings, spending, and household conversation about money
- The structure that has formed around income across a career — and what it reveals
- Reading frameworks for the mid-career household financial position
Materials included
- Clothbound reflection journal
- Monthly worksheet cards (four sets)
- Peer discussion notebook

The workshop is educational; no advice is offered. Includes a printed reader of sample documents, a vocabulary booklet, and a glossary card.

Standards Across All Programmes
How Every Maranth Programme Is Run
No Advisory Conduct
All facilitators are trained to keep discussion within educational scope. Questions requiring regulated advice are noted and redirected to appropriate resources.
Participant Privacy
Cohort discussions are confidential. Participant information is handled under Maranth's Privacy Policy and is not shared with third parties.
Singapore-Context Accuracy
All terminology, sample documents, and regulatory references are verified against current Singapore practice before use in any programme.
Cohort Size Maintained
No programme exceeds twelve participants. This limit is a quality standard, not a marketing claim. It ensures every person in the room has space to contribute.
Annual Material Review
Reading materials are reviewed each year. Documents used in workshops are checked for currency. Glossary cards are updated when terminology changes.
Post-Programme Feedback
Every cohort closes with a written review from participants. The Programme Director uses this feedback to shape the next iteration of each programme.
